What’s really interesting is that the Radiant advantage seems huge in games that last less than 30 minutes, particularly those in the Very High bracket. Overall Radiant has a small advantage over Dire (I estimate the overall win rate at 50.83%), but this advantage clearly dissipates the longer the game goes on. It’s speculated that the Dire has an advantage the longer the game goes due to their positional advantage with regards to Roshan, and the stats appear to support this conclusion. Now it's a lot harder for radiant to get an ez shrine ward from the river, but they still should have an advantage.Today we’re looking at the Radiant vs Dire win rate in relation to match duration. Actually as a last note I just wanted to say radiants advantage should be much less as of today because of the two trees they put near Dires Roshan shrine. If Dire heroes want to TP to Roshan, radiant is more likely to scout it out. Common warding spots are near or around those up left and right bottom shrines, which means radiant gains vision of Dires closest access point to Roshan. What this means for the radiant is that they gain access, control, and most importantly vision of the upper left side of the map, ans the dire gain the lower right portion. Hard carries on each team will farm the jungle on their side of the map closer to the offlane and push out the wave near or passed their offlane tower. In this stage of the game, the "safe" lanes sort of swap. The offlaner gets lvl 6, maybe a blink dagger, the enemy supports stop following their farming cores and start following whoever wants to fight, usually the offlaner and or mid to look for kills. I can't remember which pro player explained this, but they made a video which pretty much boiled down to this: after the 10-15 minute mark, the safelane becomes extremely unsafe. Yeah he's completely wrong, Radiant has way, way better Rosh control than dire. They either get taken in early game before the swap happens, or very late into the game when one team has already taken control of the whole map. This is also why you'll often see offlane T1 and T2s being alive much longer than other outside towers. And rosh is on the left side, giving radiant the rosh advantage, they're more likely to already be in a position to rosh, they'll have the vision over your jungle and shrine even before they decide to rosh. Even though someone has to come down there and keep the wave off their T2, but can't safely push it out far enough.Īnyway, so if you look at the map, when the teams swap jungles like this, radiant has the whole left side of the map under their control, while dire has the right. The enemy jungle and their safelane become the safest places to farm, while your own safelane is extremely dangerous, "dead lane" BSJ calls it. When both teams do this, they swap jungles. Doing this lets you take over the enemy jungle. It's usually the hard to kill offlaner (that just won his lane) or a carry with escapes. I think BSJ mentioned this somewhere but basically the way the game works, or at least most pro and high mmr games, is that after the laning stage one hero stays and keep pushing out the offlane after taking T1.
